The Department of Emergency Medical Services is one of eight (8) departments within the Navajo Division of Public Safety.
The Department consists of the Administration Office, Two (2) Field Operation Offices, (East and West) the office of Training and Technical Assistance, Third Party Billing Section, Property Office, Accounting Office and twelve (12) Field Offices. The Operational aspects of Emergency Medical Services are carried out from Indian Health Service hospitals or clinics that are managed by the Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
As a Public Safety Service, the Emergency Medical Services also provides training in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR - Health Care Provider) - Heart Saver First Aid and the Emergency Medical Technicians Basic course, Emergency Medical Technicians Intermediate course and the First Responders course.
